Congratulations to Brian Clifford and Simon Pullan who successfully completed their Level One umpiring qualifications last week, after 9 weeks of hard graft at Croydon Umpires and Scorers Association. Our thanks go out to all of those at CUSA whose excellent work made this possible.

They both follow in the footsteps of Jim Patel who successfully passed both his Level One and Level One “A” qualifications during 2011. Graham Pinkney sits his Level One assessment later in the spring, we wish him all the best.

If anyone is considering taking their exams or would like more information as to what is involved, please either contact Brian Clifford or liaise directly with Brian Hurn at CUSA.

Pre-season nets are being booked for 24th March 2012 onwards, they will be held at Wimbledon College, the same venue as last year. More details about training plans for 2012 can be seen here.

Existing members are reminded that membership fees are due and should be paid directly into the club bank account, details of which have been circulated on the internal mailing list. Fees are £80 for adults and £50 for concessions (students and U18s) Any questions, please email either Brian or Ewan.

We have some gaps on the fixure list for the coming season, any potential opposition who could host us on either 21st April or 28th April please get in touch with either Brian or Theo.

Finally, we’d be delighted to hear from any new members who would like more details about joining our club. Membership rates are competitive and we are a social club able to cater for both those looking for competitive cricket or something perhaps a little more laid back. Again, either email Brian or Steve for more details about joining the club.

2nd team and Sunday team fixtures have also now been uploaded.

Focus is mainly on the player profiles at the moment, as they are relatively easy to update and provide an angle to understand the vagaries of WordPress. From there, we will move onto more exciting things. There’s a long “to do” list.
